About Editor
Hello, everyone. I am Yun Bai (Berry), the Chinese freshman student of Emory University. Bai Yun in Chinese means the beautiful white clouds in the sky. Clouds are freedom, purity, and dreams. For me, this is the most beautiful prayer in this world.
For me, a Chinese student, learning English has been a long-haul issue since the moment as early as in primary school. It had been years for me to learn it before I came here to America, and it is just nearly one year for me to go on with it in a totally different teaching atmosphere. As the saying goes, “to acquire a foreign language means to obtain another different life”. Through my off-class efforts to read about English language and the history of the language, I obtained the knowledge complementary with that taught in class. I found a way to communicate, including various abbreviations, acronyms and more methods to simplify everyday oral language.
