Responses:
Response papers are written essays that convey one's response or reaction to one specific aspect in text through this semester with
approximately 500 words. The purpose is to deliver one's personal critical points made by the author, and I have focused on developing clarifying a standpoint in order to fulfill this requirement. The responses allow me to explore extensive point of views and themes in process, and develop the ability to make coherent arguments based on a variety of data. For example, like in the Faulkner's, I could find out racial discrimination, the Puritanism, the falling of southern social system, and the advancement of society. In addition, responses also provide me en extension to take necessary and rational considerations.

Project Proposal:
Project proposal is a challenging task because it requires many skills such as critical thinking about documents, cause and effect relationships, and abilities to read and summarize texts. In my project, I narrowed my proposal into six sections, and each section was intended to be focused on different areas in order to build better composition construction. I clearly draw my conclusion and other aspects through this process.

Major Written Project:
My major written project, based on Project Proposal, was taken a further exploration of American Southern social changes through the perspective of Southern literatures. My purpose is to discuss the similarities between author William Faulkner's family and what he contributed to write in the fictions. For my first draft, I did not follow the instruction. I have developed my final points but without a solid construction, and my essay was turned into an inexpectancy. I fixed my with providing a valid thesis statement, organizing works and fluid language convention.

Group Reportage:
The group reportage was my first group assignment in my classes. It consists two parts, one written essay and a presentation during class. Through the work with my partner, Robin, we have found out there were more difficulties than we thought. For instance, we did not know each well and our writing style, and we could decide how to develop our essay. We looked for writing tutor's help in order to solve this problem. We have talked through the meeting with tutor and clearly delivered our points. We received a low grade first draft but my partner always strengthened me. It was a great experience working with one another.

Overall
College writing is without a doubt a important learning process to succeed in a profession. This course certainly helps me write fluently and effectively in a variety of types of documents. Through this semester, I inevitably expand my vocabulary and communication skills while talking. Most importantly, I learned how to "listen" to others. Listening is a skill that we can all benefit from improving. In this course, I could listen to what others' points and obtain cogent information that help me to build knowledge constructions. One weakness of this semester is the lack of my motivation. After my acceptance of Emory University, I became idle, and I felt I do not have any goals in life. As a result, I sometimes did not organize work and put less efforts than before.
